Copycat the Cool Way #10

This week seemed like a long one. I am fully exhausted. I have some work things to finish up, but the only thing I am looking forward to is SLEEP! Thank goodness for the long weekend. I am looking forward to the big turkey dinner tomorrow night. Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with family and eat everything you can! I'm a fan of food. That's all.

Tuesday- The shorts were as bad life decision. I wore shorts out of stubbornness and stupidity. It rained when I came home from school. The temperature also dropped about 8 degrees. So needless to say, I instantly put on my cosiest clothes and made myself a hot chocolate. I got the inspiration from Hello Fashion. I think I need to invest in some more cardigans. I love that they are cozy and can be dressed up or down. I'm imagining myself with a mustard yellow cardigan, but I don't even think I have anything that matches it! Well, I have learned two things; cardigans will be going on my clothes shopping list, and summer is officially over so I need to let go of the shorts.

Cardigan- Old Navy
Shirt- Aeropostale
Shorts- Old Navy
Belt- Fossil

Wednesday- This was a last minute decision. I realized that morning that I need sweaters with patterns because this one did not quite cut it for me. I would prefer a pattern like the original found on the WhoWhatWear post. My sweater is very pretty though. I love the flowery shoulders.

Sweater- Target
Button up- Old Navy
Jeans- Old Navy

Thursday- Yes, I realize that this outfit is pretty much the same as yesterday, but when I saw this outfit on Hello Fashion, I knew I had to change something up. And I LOVED it! My oxford shoes are once again making an appearance. I posted a point-of-view picture on Instagram because I was so happy about what I was looking at all day.

Friday-  I had extra time to get ready for school, so I got to curl my hair and really try on an outfit. The original post was from Penny Pincher Fashion, and to be honest, I think I really nailed this one. This has happened only one other time on my fifth outfit post, and it was also with a outfit from the same blog. Just good luck I guess!

As I said, I am anticipating all the turkey and pie of tomorrow! I asked some kids that I teach what their favourite part of Thanksgiving was. And they were saying beautiful things like "spending time with my family" and "thinking of all the things I am thankful for." And here I am thinking about the pie!

What's your favourite part of Thanksgiving?

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an incredible book. It’s something that really allows readers to understand ho

I have recently taken on the title of a feminist, and this website has been a great way to see that other women share the same views as me. 3.        I’m not a chick-flick kind of girl. James Bond and Indiana Jones are the best. I

Monthly Favourites- February 2016

I don’t know about you, but it feels like February has flown by! I can’t say it’s been a busy month; it’s more like a month of sinking back into routine. Last month, I was so ready to get back to school. It’s been great so far. I’m loving my classes, and I’m doing well with keeping on top of readings. I went to watch The Superbowl with friends (we didn’t make it to halftime), took control of my own body, and I’ve made myself a solid group of friends. I’m really happy. Here’s what got me through the month: 1.        NetGalley     I’m sure you can tell based on the sheer amount of book reviews I’ve been posting, but I have been reading quite a lot. This is all thanks to NetGalley. I have been a member of the site for over a year, but I never really got into it until now. At home, I have an extensive bookshelf, but I couldn’t bring that to the UK with me. I turned to NetGalley, and I have been rewarded. As a member, I request book titles and get a free e-book. In exchange, I have
