Monthly Favourites- March 2014

It’s the last day of March everybody! That means that people will be coming out with their monthly favourites. I decided to do the same. All the things I love the most....est. Get it? I’ll keep it short and sweet. A list of my top five favourite things of the month. They won’t necessarily be the same five things every month either. It depends on the month.

Here we go:

1.       Favourite Item:

This box. My mom and sister came back from a shopping trip to Home Sense with a couple of these boxes. This one is the biggest, and it was the easiest to take a picture of. They are both great for storage. I’m using one to store my extra nail supplies and perfume bottles that don’t fit on my tray. The other is (finally) used to store all my nail polishes.

2.       Favourite Music:

Picture found here.

Last Night on Earth by Noah and the Whale. My sister is half-hipster. She listens to all of this kind of music. I have the music on my iPod, and I take it off if I don’t like it. This album is amazing though. I really connected with it, and it describes my life right now. I have it on repeat.

3.       Favourite Event:

My birthday! It was such an amazing night. I’m so glad that I had all of my amazing friends there. Plus, cake.

4.       Favourite Beauty Thing:

Shea butter. I love this stuff so much. It was rather expensive to get only three of these little things, but I think it is totally worth it. All of my skin goes super dry at the end of the winter, but I’ve been using it for my lips. At one point, I had a lip that was about to crack, and shea butter saved it! Plus, you can use any excess stuff for your hands instead of “accidentally” wiping it on someone else.

5.       Favourite Moment:

When I got the call that I made the soph team. I cannot wait for next year. After meeting everyone, and hanging out with them a couple times, I can say for sure that this experience will be one of the best experiences of my life. No picture can accurately portray my feelings.

March was great, but I have a lot to look forward to in April! There is a huge soph event on Friday, and although finals are fast approaching, it also means the end of school is approaching! Things are looking up!

What are you looking forward to in April?

Is fall not the best reading season? I’m so glad I’ve had a few opportunities to sit on the front porch, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with a hot drink and my book. Right now, it’s raining outside and all I want to do is cozy up and get back to my book. I’ve read some great non-fiction in the past six weeks. I’m learning so much about how people relate to the world around them. That is so important to me. Check them out! The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism – Naoki Higashida – 4 Stars         This is a very short book that I think everyone should read – particularly those who work with children. Although knowledge has come a long way, there is still so much more to be learned about autism. This book is a series of question that Naoki Higashida answers from his point of view. Interspersed is also a handful of short stories from Higashida’s point of view.         It’s an incredible book. It’s something that really allows readers to understand ho

James Bond and Indiana Jones are the best. I
